A.) Eight facts about satay stated by Udin.

1.) Satay or ‘sate’ is made of chicken, beef, or lamb.

2.) ‘Sate ayam’ is made of chicken.

3.) ‘Sate kambing’ is made of lamb.

4.) ‘Sate sapi’ is made of beef.

5.) Small pieces of meat are marinated in spicy soy sauce.

6.) Some pieces of well marinated meat are skewered.

7.) On skewers, satay is grilled over very hot charcoal.

1.) ‘Lemper’ is made of a handful lump of steamed glutinuous rice.

2.) It is fi lled with chicken or beef fi lling.

3.) Each piece is wrapped in a banana leaf.

4.) The wrapping is secured on both ends with tooth picks or ‘lidi’.

5.) ‘Lemper’ in the banana leaf is steamed, or cooked over a very hot barbeque or grill.

6.) If the glutinuous rice is well-cooked before ‘lemper’ is fi lled and wrapped, it can be served straight away with the banana leaf still green and fresh.

C.) Seven facts about ‘pempek’ stated by Lina:

1.) ‘Pempek’ is a very popular food from South of Sumatra.

2.) It is made of fi sh and tapioca starch.

3.) Fish, tapioca starch, and water are mixed to make thick dough.

4.) In diff erent shapes and sizes, the dough is boiled until it fl oats.

5.) The cooked ‘pempek’ is then deep-fried.

6.) ‘Pempek’ is served with ‘cuko’.

7.) Cuko is made of brown sugar, chilly, garlic, tamarind, and salt.

D.) Eight facts about ‘kerupuk’ stated by Beni.

1.) ‘Kerupuk’ are very crunchy crackers.

2.)  Diff erent kinds of crackers are easily found everywhere in Indonesia.

3.) It is made of tapioca starch.

4.) It is fl avoured with fi sh, shrimp, or garlic.

5.) ‘Kerupuk’ is shaped in thin pieces.

6.) The pieces of ‘kerupuk’ are dried under the sun until it is completely dry and hard.

7.) Very dry ‘kerupuk’ is deep-fried in hot cooking oil.

8.) Some kinds of ‘kerupuk’ are fried in very hot sand.
