Answer: the story happened in a long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatra, Indonesia

Answer: in the story of Malin Kundang, there are some characters involved. Those areMalin Kundang, His Mother, Pirates, The Merchant, and Malin Kundang’s Wife.
3.What event started the plot of the story?
Answer: the event that started the plot of the story is when Malin Kundang was sailing, he saw a merchant’s ship being raided by a band of pirates. With his bravery, Malin Kundang helped the merchant to defeat the pirates.
4.What happened next?
Answer: after the heroic effort by Malin Kundang helping the merchant, the merchant allowed Malin Kundang to sail with him. Malin Kundang agreed in the hope to get a better life. He left his mother alone.
5.What makes the problem in the story get more complicated?
Answer: the problem in the story gets more complicated since Malin Kundang takes sail to his hometown and rejects the fact that the old lady was his mother.
6.What is the climax of the story?
Answer: The climax of this story is when Malin Kundang refuses to approve of the old lady as his mother and by anger, his mother curses him and turns Malin Kundang into stone.

Answer: In the story, Malin Kundang resolves himself as he asks for forgiveness from his mother but it is too late and Malin Kundang turns into stone.
